Bahnstrecke Valšov–Rýmařov railway is a commuter rail in the Czech republic which was built and primarily operated by Imperial Royal Austrian State Railways (kkStB) as ''Staatsbahn Kriegsdorf–Römerstadt''. It was divided from Bahnstrecke Olomouc–Opava východ at Valšov to the direction of the Jesenik and Rýmařov.
==History==
On 21 April 1871 Moravskoslezsky Centralbahnplatz (MSCB) gained the concession to build a railway main line from Olmütz to Głubczyce via Jägerndorf and the border. Concession included the rights for building branch lines from Olbersdorf via Neisse, Troppau, Römerstadt to Würbenthal.〔(Reichsgesetzblatt für die im Reichsrathe vertretenen Königreiche und Länder ) vom 1 June 1870〕 Beginning of the Long Depression financially blocked the building of the line. It was the background when Austria wanted to connect Kriegsdorf and Römerstadt for itself. (As it had happened at the Milotice nad Opavou–Vrbno pod Pradědem railway).
Line was opened on 18 October 1878. At the beginning it was operated by the MSCB. On 1 January 1895 it was handed over to the Imperial Royal Austrian Railways.
Timetable of 1912 included 4 pairs of railways on the line. It tokk 39–56 minutes for the trains to pass this 14 km.〔Fahrplan 1912 der kkStB - gültig ab 1 May 1912〕
When Austria-Hungary lost the World War I, line was handed over to the newly founded Czechoslovak State Railways (ČSD). In the 1920 the rails went more frequently and running time was decreased to 30.37 minutes, nearly at all the railways. Winter timetable of 1937–1939 included one extra train, which stopped at all the stations.〔Winterfahrplan 1937/38 der ČSD - gültig ab 3 October 1937〕
When Nazi Germany annexed Sudetenland, the line became to German territory and it was owned and operated by German reich Railways. In the reich timetable it was called line 151w, ''Kriegsdorf–Römerstadt''.〔(Deutsches Kursbuch Jahresfahrplan 1944/45 ) 3 July 1944 bis auf weiteres〕 At the end of World War II line was passed back to ČSD-hez.
On 1 January 1993 line and its trains became part of the newly founded Czech Railways.
Timetable of 2012 included 10 pair of trains every day, except Sunday. Then there were eight pairs of train. Most of the trains run between Esko vMoravskoslezském kraji and Opava východ. It takes about 24–25 minutes, with a 34 km/h travelling speed.〔Jahresfahrplan 2012 der ČD - gültig vom 11 December 2011〕
